5120 x 1440 pixels: uses, aspect ratio and how to resize
What is 5120×1440 (32:9 super ultrawide, dual QHD)?
5120 × 1440 is the 32:9 super ultrawide resolution of 49-inch monitors such as Samsung's Odyssey G9 series, often called DQHD (dual QHD) because it equals two 2560 × 1440 screens side by side with no gap. At 7.4 megapixels it is almost as many pixels as 4K, stretched into an extremely wide strip.
At a glance: 5120 × 1440 pixels, aspect ratio 32:9, 7,372,800 pixels in total (about 7.37 megapixels). The tool opens with exactly this size preset and the Crop to fill mode selected, so most images need no extra settings.
How to resize an image to 5120×1440
- Add your images. Drop them on the upload area, click to choose files or paste a screenshot with Ctrl+V. JPG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, HEIC, GIF, BMP, TIFF and SVG are accepted, many files at once (up to 80 MB each).
- Check the framing. The size is preset to 5120 × 1440 with Crop to fill: the frame is filled edge to edge and whatever does not fit is trimmed. Use Keep (center, top, bottom, left or right) to choose which part survives, or switch to Fit with background or Stretch.
- Pick format and quality. Keep the original format or convert to JPG, PNG, WebP or AVIF. The quality slider starts at 90%; alternatively set a Target size in KB and the tool lowers only the quality, never the 5120×1440 dimensions.
- Compare. Drag the before/after slider across the preview to check sharpness and framing.
- Download. Save each image, or click Download all (ZIP) for a batch. Files are named name-5120x1440 automatically; the pattern and a DPI value can be changed under More options.

Images with a different aspect ratio
32:9 is twice as wide as 16:9, so a normal image must lose half its height: that is why the page starts in Crop to fill with Keep for the top, center or bottom strip. Fit with background keeps the full picture in the middle with wide side bars, which can look good on a dark background. For example, a 4:3 phone photo (4032 × 3024) set to 5120×1440 with Crop to fill loses about 63% of its height (top and bottom edges) and is enlarged 1.27×; with Fit with background it becomes 1920 × 1440 px with bars of about 1600 px on the left and right.
Tips for a sharp 5120×1440 result
Most photos are simply not wide enough: a 12-megapixel phone photo has to be enlarged by about 1.27× to reach 5120 px wide, so use a panorama mode shot or a stitched panorama instead. For a dual-monitor span, make sure the center of the image is not your subject, as it sits on the bezel between two screens. JPG at 90% usually weighs 1.5 to 4 MB.
Free, private and made for batches
Everything happens in your browser: your images are never uploaded, location and camera data (EXIF) are removed from every result, and there is no sign-up, watermark or daily limit. Need a neighbouring size? Try 3440×1440 or 2560×1440; the custom image resizer handles any other width and height, and the image compressor shrinks the file further if a website or email still rejects it.

Frequently asked questions
What is 5120x1440 resolution?
It is a 32:9 super ultrawide resolution, also called dual QHD (DQHD): two 2560 × 1440 screens side by side, about 7.4 megapixels.
How do I make a wallpaper for a 49-inch super ultrawide?
Use a panorama if you have one and drop it here in Crop to fill mode. A regular photo loses half its height, so choose the strip to keep with the Keep buttons.
Can I use a 5120x1440 image across two 1440p monitors?
Yes. Set it as a spanned wallpaper and each 2560 × 1440 monitor shows one half; keep the main subject away from the middle, where the bezels meet.
Are my images uploaded to a server?
No. Resizing to 5120×1440 happens entirely in your browser, so your files never leave your device. Location and camera data (EXIF) are also removed from the output.
Can I resize many images to 5120×1440 at once?
Yes. Add as many images as you like: each one is resized to 5120×1440 with the same settings, and Download all saves them together as a ZIP file.
How do I make a 5120x1440 wallpaper from a normal photo?
Resize it here to 5120 x 1440 with Crop to fill. A 16:9 photo keeps only the middle half of its height at 32:9, so a panorama, or a picture with sky or sea above and below the subject, gives the best super ultrawide wallpaper.
What aspect ratio is 5120 x 1440?
5120 x 1440 pixels has an aspect ratio of 32:9, so the width is 3.56 times the height.
What is the difference between 5120x1440 and 1440x5120?
They hold the same number of pixels, but 5120x1440 is landscape and 1440x5120 is the same frame turned on its side. This page always outputs 5120 × 1440; for 1440 × 5120, enter the size in the custom size resizer.
