Turning a non-square photo into 200 × 200
Phone and camera photos are usually 4:3 or 3:2, so a square needs a decision. Take a 4000 × 3000 shot: Crop to fill scales it to 267 × 200 and trims about 33 px from the left and right edges. Fit with background keeps the whole picture at 200 × 150 and fills 25 px above and below with white, black, grey, any colour or transparency (PNG, WebP, AVIF).
