About this tool

This free PNG to SVG converter traces your image into real vector shapes, so the SVG stays sharp at any size, from a favicon to a billboard. It works on PNG, JPG, WebP, GIF and BMP files, and is best at vectorizing logos, icons, clip art and line drawings. Pick a preset, adjust the colors and detail while the preview updates, and download the SVG. The tracing runs in your browser, so your image is never uploaded.

How to convert PNG to SVG

  1. Drop a PNG or JPG on the page, or click to choose it.
  2. Pick a preset: Logo or icon, Illustration, Photo, or Black and white.
  3. Fine tune the colors, the speck filter, smoothing and curve fit. The preview re-traces after every change.
  4. Tick Remove background color if you want a transparent SVG.
  5. Compare with the original, then click Download SVG or Copy SVG code.

Which preset should I use?

PresetColorsBest for
Logo or icon8Flat logos, app icons, badges and stickers
Illustration16Cartoons, clip art and drawings with a few shades
Photo40A poster style vector look from a photo (large files)
Black and white2Signatures, line art, stencils, cutting machine designs

Tips for a clean vector

  • Start from the largest, sharpest version of the image you have. Blurry or tiny images give wobbly edges.
  • Fewer colors means fewer shapes and a smaller file. Logos usually need between 2 and 8.
  • Raise Ignore specks to drop noise and JPG artifacts; lower it to keep fine details.
  • Photos turn into many thousands of shapes. That gives an artistic poster look, not a photo, and a large SVG.
  • Need to remove a busy background first? Use the background remover, then trace the PNG. To turn an SVG back into a PNG, use SVG to PNG.

Your image stays private: no upload, no account and no watermark on the SVG.

Frequently asked questions

How do I convert a PNG to SVG?

Drop the PNG on this page, choose a preset such as Logo or icon, and the image is traced into vector paths in a few seconds. Adjust the colors or detail if needed, then click Download SVG.

Is the SVG a real vector file?

Yes. The tool traces the edges of each color area into curves and straight lines and saves them as SVG paths. Unlike converters that only wrap the PNG inside an SVG file, the result can be scaled, recolored and edited in Illustrator, Inkscape, Figma or Cricut Design Space.

Can I convert JPG to SVG too?

Yes. The converter accepts PNG, JPG, WebP, GIF and BMP images. JPG files often contain compression noise, so raise Ignore specks or Smoothing for cleaner shapes.

How do I get a transparent background?

Tick Remove background color. The tool takes the color in the corners of the image as the background and leaves it out of the SVG. Transparent areas of a PNG stay transparent automatically.

Why is my SVG file so large?

Every color area becomes a shape, so photos and detailed images create thousands of paths. Lower the number of colors, raise Ignore specks, or use the Logo or Black and white preset to make the file much smaller.

Is my image uploaded to a server?

No. The tracing runs in your browser in a background worker, so your image never leaves your device. There is no sign up and no watermark.
