How to batch convert images online
Converting images one by one wastes time. The bulk converter takes a whole selection of files, applies the same format, quality, background and size settings to all of them and hands you a single ZIP. It is built for product catalogues, photo shoots, website migrations and any folder of mixed formats.
What is a JPG file?
JPG (also written JPEG) is the most widely supported photo format: every browser, phone, camera, printer, email client and editing app opens it. JPG is the safe choice for photos you upload to forms, marketplaces, email attachments or older software. JPG uses lossy compression that throws away fine detail the eye barely notices, which keeps photographs small. JPG has no transparency channel, so any transparent area has to be filled with a solid colour.
Why choose WebP?
WebP is Google's modern web image format, designed to replace both JPG and PNG on websites. At similar visual quality, lossy WebP files are typically 25 to 35% smaller than JPG, and lossless WebP is usually smaller than PNG. Current versions of Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Opera and Safari (14 and later) all display WebP. Some older software, print services, office programs and upload forms still refuse WebP files.
What happens to each file in a batch
You can add JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF, BMP, TIFF and SVG files together. JPG at 85% is preselected because it is the most compatible target: transparency in PNG, WebP, GIF or SVG sources is filled with the background colour you choose (white by default). Pick PNG, WebP or AVIF instead and transparency is kept. Animated GIFs contribute their first frame, multi-page TIFFs one image per page, and SVGs are rendered at their own size. Every change to a setting is re-applied live to the whole list, so you can tune the quality while watching the total size.
How to batch convert images online
- Drop your JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF, BMP, TIFF and SVG files onto the upload area, click to browse, or paste an image with Ctrl+V. You can add many files at once, up to 80 MB each.
- In Convert to, JPG is already selected; you can switch between JPG, PNG, WebP and AVIF at any time and the preview updates instantly.
- Adjust the Quality slider (default 85%) or switch to Target size and enter a limit in KB; the tool then finds the highest quality that fits.
- Pick the Background colour for transparent areas: white, black, light grey or any colour from the picker.
- If needed, open Resize (exact size, maximum size or percentage) and More options for a DPI value and a file-name pattern.
- Compare the original and the result with the before/after slider, then download each file or click Download all (ZIP).
Tips for the best result
- Combine conversion with resizing: set a maximum width such as 1920 px in Resize to prepare a full gallery for the web in one pass.
- Use the file-name pattern, for example {name}-{w}x{h}, to label every output with its final dimensions.
- Only need to resize or compress a batch? Use the bulk image resizer or the bulk image compressor; for single files the image format converter is quicker.
- Location and camera details (EXIF) are removed from every converted file, so the results are safe to post publicly.
Private, free and fast
The conversion runs entirely on your device: your browser reads the JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF, BMP, TIFF and SVG images, draws them on a canvas and encodes the JPG files locally. Nothing is uploaded to a server, so private photos and client work stay on your computer. There is no sign-up, no watermark and no daily limit, and settings changes are applied live to every file in the list.

Frequently asked questions
How many images can I convert at once?
There is no fixed limit; each file can be up to 80 MB. Very large batches depend on your device's memory, so split huge folders into a few runs.
Which output formats are available?
JPG, PNG, WebP and AVIF. AVIF can only be created in browsers that support encoding it, currently mainly Chrome and Edge.
What happens to transparent images when converting to JPG?
Transparent areas are filled with the background colour you choose, white by default. Choose PNG, WebP or AVIF to keep transparency.
Can I convert HEIC files in bulk?
Yes, HEIC files can be dropped in as well; for iPhone photos the dedicated HEIC to JPG converter is the simplest option.
Are my JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF, BMP, TIFF and SVG files uploaded to a server?
No. The conversion happens in your browser on your own device, so your images never leave your computer. EXIF location and camera data are also removed from the results.
Can I convert several JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF, BMP, TIFF and SVG files at once?
Yes. Select or drop as many files as you like (up to 80 MB each); they are all converted with the same settings and you can download them one by one or together as a ZIP file.
