How these fonts work

These are not real fonts: every styled letter is a separate Unicode character, which is why they survive copy and paste into apps that do not let you change the font. Facebook has no bold or italic button in posts, so Unicode bold and italic letters are the simplest way to emphasise a headline or key words.

Tips

  • Keep important information (like your name or a link) readable: screen readers may read styled letters poorly.
  • Very old phones may show empty boxes for some styles; bold, italic and cursive are the most widely supported.
  • Mix styles: one bold word in a plain sentence draws the eye better than a whole styled paragraph.

More text tools: character counter, upside-down text and all fancy text styles.

Frequently asked questions

How do I copy and paste Facebook fonts?

Type your text, tap the style you like to copy it, then paste it into posts, comments, your bio and page descriptions.

Do these fonts work everywhere?

They are Unicode characters, so they paste into almost any app or website. Very old devices may not display a few rare styles.

Is it free?

Yes, completely free with no app, no sign-up and no limit.

Why do styled letters use more characters?

Each styled letter is a special Unicode character; some platforms (like X) count them as two characters, so limits fill faster.

Can I save my favourite styles?

Yes. Tap the star next to a style to keep it at the top under Favourites on this device.
