Upside Down Text Generator

The upside down text generator turns ordinary text into characters that look flipped, so “hello world” becomes “plɹoʍ ollǝɥ”. It does not change a font or create an image: every letter is swapped for a real Unicode character that resembles the rotated version (ɐ for a, ǝ for e, ʇ for t, ¿ for ?). Because the result is plain text, you can paste it into an Instagram bio, a TikTok comment, a WhatsApp message, a Discord chat or a username field, and it stays upside down.

How to flip text upside down

1. Type or paste your text into the input box, or click Sample to try it with an example.
2. Pick a style under Flip Styles. The result updates instantly as you type.
3. Optionally switch off Preserve Spaces to remove all spaces, or turn on Add Decorations to wrap the result in random symbols such as ✧ or ★.
4. Click Copy and paste the text where you need it, or Download it as a .txt file.

Ten text styles in one tool

• Upside Down: letters are flipped and the order is reversed, so the text reads correctly if you turn your phone around.
• Upside + Flip: letters are flipped but kept in the original order, which looks like a vertical mirror image.
• Backwards: the characters are simply reversed (“olleh”), with no flipping.
• Mirror: wraps the text in a right-to-left override character so it displays from right to left.
• Zalgo: adds layers of combining accents above, through and below every letter for the “glitched” or creepy look.
• Bubble, Square and Circle Text: ⓑⓤⓑⓑⓛⓔ letters, boxed 🄰 letters and white-on-black 🅐 circles.
• Regional: uses the regional indicator letters normally used to build flag emoji.
• Wide Text: full-width letters with extra spacing, the classic ｖａｐｏｒｗａｖｅ style.

The All Styles Preview panel shows your text in every style at once, so you can compare them and click the one you like. A small statistics box counts input and output characters and words.

Tips for best results

• The upside down alphabet covers the English letters a to z, digits and common punctuation. Accented letters (é, ñ, ü) and non-Latin scripts are left as they are.
• Some flipped capitals come from rare Unicode blocks and may appear as empty boxes on older phones. If that happens, write your text in lowercase first; the case converter does it in one click.
• Regional letters can merge into a flag when two of them form a country code (for example “us” or “fr”). Add a space between letters if you see flags you did not intend.
• Zalgo text is random, so every refresh is different. Keep it short: heavy stacks of accents can overlap the lines above and below.
• Screen readers do not read flipped or decorated characters as normal words, so avoid them for important information, names you want people to search for, or accessibility-critical content.
