How to find the right hashtags for a post

This free AI hashtag generator reads what your post is about and suggests hashtags that actually fit it. Describe the post or paste your caption, choose the platform, and you get niche, specific and broad tags in a few seconds. Pick the ones you like and copy them in one click.

How to find the right hashtags for a post

  1. Describe your post or paste the caption. The more specific, the better.
  2. Choose the platform: Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, X, LinkedIn, Facebook or Pinterest.
  3. Set how many hashtags you want and the language.
  4. Click Generate hashtags.
  5. Click tags to keep only the ones you want, then copy, shuffle or save them.

Niche, specific and broad tags

The AI sorts every suggestion into three groups so you can build a balanced set:

  • Niche: tags of the community or sub topic, such as #veganbaking instead of #food. Fewer posts compete there and the people who follow them care about the topic.
  • Specific: tags for the exact product, style, place or format of this post, such as #sourdoughscoring.
  • Broad: big general tags. They are crowded, so use one or two at most.

It skips spam tags such as #followforfollow or #like4like, which add nothing and can make a post look low quality.

How many hashtags to use on each platform

PlatformLimit or best practice
Instagram5 hashtags at most per post or reel, the limit since December 2025
TikTok3 to 6 relevant tags in the caption
YouTubeUp to 15; the first 3 show above the video title
LinkedIn3 to 5 at the end of the post
X (Twitter)1 or 2 per post
Facebook1 to 3
Pinterest2 to 5 in the pin description

The generator keeps to these numbers for you: on Instagram it gives five tags, on LinkedIn five, on X four.

No made up numbers

Many hashtag tools show post counts or "popularity" scores that are invented. We do not have real numbers from the platforms, so we do not show any. To check a tag, open it on the platform and look at the posts: if they look like yours, the tag is a good fit.

Tips for better reach

  • Relevance beats volume: every tag should describe the post.
  • Use different sets on different posts instead of pasting the same block every time.
  • On Instagram, with only five tags, choose mostly niche and specific ones.
  • Put the tags at the end of the caption so the first line stays clean.

Privacy and limits

Your text is sent securely to our own AI server, used once and not stored or used for training. The tool is free with no sign up and a fair daily limit per visitor.

Frequently asked questions

How many hashtags can I use on Instagram?

Five per feed post or reel. Instagram cut the limit from 30 to 5 in December 2025, and hashtags in the first comment count too. The generator gives you five tags when Instagram is selected.

How does the AI hashtag generator work?

You describe your post or paste your caption, and our AI reads it and suggests tags that match the subject, the community and the details of that post. They come grouped into niche, specific and broad tags.

Why are there no popularity numbers?

Because we do not have real post counts from Instagram or TikTok, and invented numbers would mislead you. Open a tag on the platform to see how active it is and whether the posts look like yours.

What is a niche hashtag?

A specific tag used by a smaller, focused community, such as #veganbaking instead of #food. Your post competes with fewer others and reaches people who care about that topic.

How many hashtags should I use on TikTok and YouTube?

On TikTok, 3 to 6 relevant tags in the caption work well. On YouTube you can add up to 15, and the first three appear above the title, so put the most important ones first.

Do hashtags still work in 2026?

Yes, as a way to tell the platform and people what a post is about. They work best when they are few, specific and relevant, which is why platforms like Instagram now limit them.

Is my caption stored?

No. Your text goes securely to our AI server, is used once to suggest the tags and is then discarded. It is not saved or used to train any model.
