The short version

• Our tools run in your browser. The images, text, code and files you use with them are processed on your own device and are not uploaded to our servers.
• You do not need an account. We do not ask for your name or email to use a tool.
• We only collect personal data when you choose to contact us, and basic usage statistics if you accept analytics cookies.
• We never sell your personal data.

Who we are

WoowTools (woowtools.com) provides free online tools for images, text, developers, design and SEO. For this policy, “we”, “us” and “our” mean the WoowTools team. You can reach us at support@woowtools.com.

Your files and content

When you use a tool, the work happens in your browser using JavaScript, WebAssembly and the Canvas API. Your files and text stay in your device's memory and disappear when you close or reload the page. We cannot see them, and we do not store copies.

A few tools load helper data from a public content delivery network (for example the language data that the Image to Text tool needs for character recognition, or the meme templates in the Meme Generator). These requests download data to your browser; they do not send your files anywhere.

Information we collect

When you contact us

If you use the contact form, report a problem or suggest a feature, we receive the name, email address and message you enter. We use them only to answer you and improve our tools.

Usage statistics (with your consent)

If you accept analytics cookies, Google Analytics collects pseudonymous information such as pages visited, approximate location (country or city), device and browser type, and how long pages take to load. IP addresses are truncated by Google Analytics. You can change your choice at any time (see the Cookie Policy).

Server logs

Like every website, our hosting provider records technical request logs (IP address, requested URL, time, browser) to keep the service secure and working. These logs are kept for a short period and are not used to build profiles.

Aggregate counters

We count how often each tool page is opened, without linking the count to you.

How we use information

• To run, secure and improve the website and tools
• To answer your messages and fix the problems you report
• To understand which tools are useful, in aggregate, when you consented to analytics
• To comply with legal obligations

• Legitimate interests for security logs, abuse prevention and answering messages you send us

Sharing

We do not sell or rent personal data. We share it only with service providers that help us run the website (hosting, email, analytics), under contracts that limit their use of the data, or when required by law.

Advertising

Some pages may show ads. Ad partners such as Google may use cookies to show and measure ads only if you consent. Without consent, only non-personalised ads (if any) are shown.

How long we keep data

• Files and text you use in tools: never stored by us
• Contact and feedback messages: up to 24 months, then deleted
• Analytics data: 14 months in Google Analytics
• Server logs: up to 30 days

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you can ask to access, correct, delete or export your personal data, object to or restrict processing, and withdraw consent at any time. Email support@woowtools.com. You can also complain to your local data protection authority. See our GDPR page for details.

Children

WoowTools is a general-audience service and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS only. Because tool processing happens on your device, the most sensitive data (your files) never reaches us at all.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our tools change. The date at the top shows the latest version. Significant changes will be highlighted on the website.
