Start typing and the timer starts with your first key. Your speed is measured in words per minute (WPM), the standard used by employers and typing courses: every 5 correct characters count as one word.
What is a good typing speed?
Most people type around 40 WPM. 60 WPM is fast, and 80+ WPM is professional level. Accuracy matters as much as speed: aim for 95% or higher.

Look at the screen, not the keyboard, keep your fingers on the home row (ASDF JKL;) and take short tests often. Your best score for each test length is saved on this device so you can track progress. Everything runs in your browser: nothing is uploaded, stored or tracked.
