Real platform rules
X counts every link as 23 characters and most emoji as 2; Bluesky counts graphemes. SMS messages switch from 160 to 70 characters per part when you use characters outside the GSM alphabet, such as emoji. The counter applies these rules for you.

Why does my SMS use two messages?
One SMS holds 160 GSM characters, or only 70 if the text contains emoji or other Unicode characters.
Are spaces counted?
